Meet Tanya Hochschild

ABOUT THE BOOK

What a treat is was for me to lie back on a leisurely morning and read through sheafs of poems by the lovely Tanya Hochschild.  A woman of energy and grace, she lives and writes fully aware of the glories of our world and her privileged place in it.  Her South African childhood, her family, her world-wide travels, her sensibility to nature, her Sanibel home, all are centers for her sensitive and poetic - and sometimes comic - rumination.

In sharing her blossoming poems with members of the Sanibel Writers Group, she gives away none of her own flavor.  In the ablutions of a big black rhinoceros she makes his reader appreciate anew the restoring comforts of a shampoo and hot shower.  In a Maharana's summer palace of gem-embedded walls, a love affair begins - with India!  In every country, for women who set tables at which they never eat, and for all of life, Tanya's sensibility shines through.

Poetry, she says, is kindling begging to be fire.  Her fire will warm your heart.
